Affording Progress: A community response to gentrification

What is the difference between development and progress?

This is the question I sought to explore in 2008 while participating in the Third World Newsreel Documentary Workshop and living in Prospect Heights, a Brooklyn neighborhood that is experiencing gentrification.

Synopsis: Community activists and residents of Prospect Heights (Brooklyn), expose the fears and hopes for their neighborhood, sending a local and universal message about the difference between development and progress.

This short documentary is a Third World Newsreel Workshop production directed by Nuala Cabral and produced by Jaisal Noor and Thanu Yakupitiyage.
